Welcome

Baldersby Park Montessori Nursery School welcomes
babies and toddlers up to school age. We follow the best of traditional standards and provide a warm and welcoming environment in which children are nurtured, motivated and eager to learn.

Our children are taught by experienced Montessori teachers, who give each child the best opportunity to develop both holistically and academically through the benefit of small classes and an enriching curriculum.

We ensure that all our children benefit from varied and well-directed early learning opportunities through their involvement in a wide range of practical and educational activities. This is supplemented with the support of one-to-one teaching, directed at each child’s specific educational requirements and well-being.

Baldersby Park Montessori Nursery School have adopted the Department of Education and Skills Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS).

This is successfully incorporated into the Montessori environment, unique in our area, which we provide at Baldersby Park. We are very proud of our reputation for providing excellent quality care and education, helping each child to fulfil their potential.

BUTTERFLIES 2-4YRS

We aim to build independence and learning by giving the children the ability to access their own activities. This allows each child to express their own individual preferences and interests in line with The Montessori ethos.

Montessori teaching methods

At Baldersby Park nursery we follow the six planes of development as a basis for your childs education

SENSORIAL
SENSORIAL
Baldersby Park Montessori believes that children learn through their senses, these being, Smell, Taste, Touch, Hearing and Vision.

LANGUAGE
LANGUAGE
In a Montessori class room, writing often comes before reading. Children learn to build up letters into words by using the jolly phonics system that is now used in primary schools.

PRACTICAL LIFE
PRACTICAL LIFE
When a child first enters a Montessori Nursery School they work with activities known to us as Practical Life Activities, these help to develop the child’s ability to look after themselves and their environment.

Children in a Montessori environment gain a physical impression of size and quantity long before they begin to work with numbers.
